Police Investigator (Death Note) Guide
Global Update sub-ending with 'That's right...' badge
The Police Investigator is a Global Update (January 23-24, 2026) anomaly that triggers a sub-ending (not a full game ending). This character resembles Light Yagami from Death Note—wearing a brown blazer, white button-down shirt, and slim tie. When served, a black notebook appears on the counter, asking you to write your name. Triggering this causes a short sub-ending sequence with maniacal laughter and accelerated Inspector monster growth.
Service is safe, but the notebook interaction triggers a sub-ending. The shift continues afterward, but Inspector growth accelerates by +1 level, making perfect survival harder.

Event Sequence
Normal customer appearance during service. After notebook click: Screen goes black. Death Note animation shows rapidly flipping pages. Your Roblox username appears with heart icon and stopped animation. Text 'That's right...' appears. CCTV briefly loses signal. Meat chunk near fridge appears larger/accelerated growth.
Normal customer voice during ordering. After notebook click: Maniacal laughter plays (high-pitched, overlapping with echo, extremely unsettling). Laughter lasts throughout sub-ending sequence.
Story & Lore
The Police Investigator represents a direct reference to Death Note's Light Yagami, with the notebook serving as the Death Note itself. This anomaly breaks the fourth wall by using the player's actual Roblox username in the Death Note animation. The accelerated Inspector growth symbolizes that writing your name transfers your 'life force' to the Inspector entity, strengthening it.
Curiosity and the temptation to interact with mysterious objects can have consequences. The game offers a notebook that seems harmless but actually dooms the player. The 'That's right...' badge name references Light Yagami's famous line when Near exposes him. This anomaly teaches players that not all dangerous-looking things are threats (this customer is safe to serve), but seemingly innocent interactions can be fatal (the notebook).
| Ending | Errors | Result | Lore |
|---|---|---|---|
| Perfect | 0 errors | True escape from cycle | Complete freedom from anomaly influence |
| Unstable | 1-4 errors | Mirror replacement | Identity replaced, cycle continues |
| Neutralized | 5+ errors | Inspector consumes you | Immediate neutralization |
| Erased | Inspection look back | Shrunk and ground | Unauthorized presence |
| Silence | Open Smiling Man envelope | Green dimension entity | Silent entity captures |
| Notebook interaction | Inspector growth +1 | Life force transferred to Inspector |
Tips & Strategy
Police Investigator wears a brown blazer, white button-down shirt, and slim tie. Hair is neat and tidy, expression serious. Realistic human model. Resembles Light Yagami from Death Note.
Check CCTV thoroughly. Police Investigator shows NO anomalies from any angle or in night vision mode. Unlike dangerous anomalies, appears completely normal.
For perfect ending runs: Serve shawarma + soda normally, then IMMEDIATELY close shutter. Ignore the notebook completely. Do not click it. Customer leaves, no consequences.
To earn 'That's right...' badge: Serve customer, click notebook, enter username. Wait through sub-ending sequence. Purchase Internal Control (5,000 cash or 29 Robux) to reset accelerated Inspector growth. Continue shift.
Notebook appears immediately after service. You have unlimited time to decide—sub-ending only triggers when you click it. The notebook won't disappear or force interaction.
After triggering sub-ending, Inspector growth accelerates. Purchase Internal Control from Corruption Shop immediately to restore normal growth rate. This costs 5,000 in-game cash or 29 Robux.
Best for badge farming in Endless Mode (Long Shift). Higher spawn rate in longer shifts. Multiple notebook interactions don't stack—single trigger per Police Investigator encounter is enough.
Low-medium jumpscare. No face-to-face pop-out. Atmosphere is terrifying due to laughter and darkness, but not physically startling like Screamer anomalies.
Game Rules
- •Only serve shawarma to confirmed human customers.
- •Use security cameras before opening the door.
- •Check both CCTV cameras (Cam 1 front, Cam 2 back) and toggle night vision for every customer.
- •Do NOT serve anomalous customers. Mistakes add +1 error.
SAFE TO SERVE: This anomaly appears completely normal on CCTV. Order is clear: shawarma + can of soda. Service is safe. After service, a black notebook appears. AVOID clicking the notebook. IGNORE it completely. Close shutter immediately. If you click notebook and enter username, sub-ending triggers with maniacal laughter. Inspector growth accelerates. Purchase Internal Control to reset. Notebook is bait—do not interact.
Give the customer a can of soda. Take the paper bundle from the customer by holding the E key. Place the bundle underneath the table in the kiosk. No matter what happens, do not open the bundle.
When the Inspector's car arrives, do not look at it or close the shutter. Do not look at the monitor or the shawarma during the inspection. Exit the kiosk quickly and hide behind the trash can. Only return when sure inspection is complete.
Turn off the power button for the shawarma stand. Exit the kiosk immediately and return only when the noises have subsided.
